ACTIVITY FOR PARENTS + BRAIN EXERCISE + SANITY SAVERS

It goes without saying that the brain is one of the most incredible parts of our anatomy. It drives all our key functions from fight or flight, to learning and imagination, perception and emotion.

It pays to keep it functioning well through nutrition and exercise. Check out these brain exercises by 5-minute magic. Enjoy!

Other easy exercises that are great for your brain

  1. JugglingResearch indicates that learning to juggle accelerates the growth of neural connections related to memory, focus, movement, and vision. Juggling is a physical activity that uses both left and right sides of your brain and combines hand/eye coordination with movement and sensory reinforcement.
  2. The good old Rubik’s Cube – improves pattern recognition, problem-solving skills, reframing problems and breaking a task into multiple smaller steps. It’s great for improving concentration and focus. Although be careful not to get addicted, that’s not such a great thing for your brain.
  3. Testing your recall – we rely so heavily on our devices to provide instant information that we’ve stopped remembering critical things such as loved one’s phone numbers or the multiplication table. Testing your recall is the top of 10 exercises that help boost memory.

Feel free to suggest any you particularly enjoy, and check out My Fav’s: Sanity Savers for other ideas.
