INDOOR + OUTDOOR ACTIVITY

This activity needs a little planning in advance. Make sure you keep empty boxes, cartons, toilet roles… anything that may be useful in the construction of something imaginative and awesome. I start collecting a week or two prior and put them in a designated box/container in the playroom so they don’t inadvertently get thrown away.

Our creations were prompted by a boat race picked from our Holiday Activity Lucky Dip. But you can be spontaneous and simply decide on the day what you’re going to create.

What you’ll need:

  • Recycled bits and pieces
  • Skewers (optional but handy)
  • Scissors
  • Blu tac / sticky tape
  • Paddle pop sticks (optional)
  • Pipe cleaners (optional)
  • Basically anything that may be useful in construction

Steps:

  1. Decide what you’re going to build – or make it up as you go.
  2. Start creating!

Yep – that’s it. No real instructions required, just imagination and bits and bobs that can be stuck together.

You may want to provide a little direction in terms of what to build if your little peep is stuck. For example the best house ever, a mode of transport, the tallest tower…

We like to put on some music and go for it.

Check out other fun activities here. And feel free to share pics of your creations or any ideas.
